The special crops which are receiving most attention are alfalfa,wheat (PI. XI, fig. 2), barley, and the subtropical fruits which thrivein the southern part of the Territory. It has been found that the datepalm (PI. XII, fig. 1) succeeds in southwestern Arizona, and to theculture of this tree the station is paying much attention.
