Medieval Christian Spain was not noted for its religious tolerance. The era of the Reconquista was characterised by conflict, conquest, ethnic cleaning and inquisition, targeted at both Islam and Judaism. Here in the Segovia Alcazar (fortress) we see a rather ghastly insight into the mindset of that period.
