The DePauw Daily was established on the campus in 1907 and from thatyear it has gained steadily in influence, enlarged its circulation; and increasedin the size of the paper. At the first, solely a private venture unrecognized bythe school, the publication has gradually won the backing of the administrationuntil in 1919 the board of trustees of DePauw authorized the school to standfinancially behind the Daily.
