Gilbert's Cove Lighthouse was erected and first operated in August 1904. It sits on the edge of St. Mary's Bay opposite Digby Neck, a long spit of land that runs south from the town of Digby along the east shore of the Bay of Fundy. The restored lighthouse houses a museum, craft shop and tea room. This image shows the west side of the opening and a pair of walkers exploring a cobble beach on Gilbert Cove.
