X-ray or radiumtherapy has not been tried on the nor-mal lingual thyroid. In my case, wherecomplete surgical removal was impos-sible and malignant change had takenplace, x-ray and radium were usedwith great benefit. Metastases had al-ready occurred so that complete curewas made impossible even by have used the galvano-cautery,but with failure because of inability toremove all the thyroid tissue.
