In the fall they had apple-butter parties; a couple would stir ortake care of the kettle, the otherswould pair and slice apples, andwhen the applebutter was done theywould lick the kettle. Duringhaymaking they often had moon- light mowing parties to mow ten oclock they had a goodsupper and something to enjoyed work.
