A camper van makes its way slowly over the 40 kilometre long dirt track near the Carnarvon Gorge camping resort in the Central Highlands of Queensland in Australia. Carnarvon Gorge's landscape have largely been shaped by water erosion and is renown for its towering white sandstone cliffs, high above the winding Carnarvon Creek, cutting its way through rainforest for approximately 30 kilometres into the outback. Scottish explorer, Thomas Mitchell visited the Gorge in the 1840s, and named it after a Welsh coastal town, Caernarfon in the United Kingdom
