A girl aged one and a boy aged three point at the summits that can be seen from the KKH This Chinese built road is an important trade route connecting Pakistan to China This picture was taken in July 2005 during a family holiday in the northern areas of Pakistan This is a remote part of the world with spectacular scenery and getting there involves a flight from Islamabad to Gilgit then a hired jeep along the KKH which goes all the way up to and beyond the Chinese border The snow capped mountain in the background is Rakaposhi Hunza and Nagar are the rival kingdoms through which the road passes at this point Pakistan is not a usual holiday destination when travelling with children but these two have a Pakistani mother and an English father and speak fluent Urdu
