Above a party of visitors being shown some of the old equipment used for producing rum on display at the Museo del Ron Havana Club in the Havana old town in Cuba, are a row of Mediopunto – a half-moon stained- glass coloured windows, typical of Cuba's, tradition, were created in the 18th century to protect the interiors of buildings from the glare of the tropical sun.
