The ancient Pergamon altar as a model for the grandstand in the former Nazi rally grounds in Nuremberg,Germany


The Nazi architect, Albert Speer chose the ancient Pergamon altar as a model for the grandstand in the former Nazi rally grounds, the Zeppelin Field –named after the landing of one of Count Zeppelin’s airships in 1909. The grandstand is where Hitler made his speeches, was built between 1935 -1937 in Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany. Today, the rally grounds are used for sporting events.
