Southampton,Hampshire Wednesday 1st June 2016 A breakdown recovery driver is this evening recovering in hospital after the recovery vehicle left the A31 westbound carriageway this evening (Tuesday). Emergency services rushed to the scene just before 11pm after receiving numerous calls about the incident after the truck left the carriage way ploughing into the central reservation bank. One lane of the A31 was closed whilst fire crews from Redbridge supported by retained fire fighters from Burley battled to free the injured driver using specialist hydraulic cutting equipment after he trapped in his cab. The man who works for Ravencroft motor company was free by fire crews after about an hour. The driver who’s injuries are thought to be serious was treated by Hazardous Area response paramedics before being transferred to Southampton General Hospitial @UKNIP
