Thousands of Muslims gathered in front of the Agriculture Ministry office, South Jakarta, where the hearing of a verdict on the blasphemy of Islam with the defendant Jakarta governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama was held. In the trial, the judge ruled that Basuki, or Ahok, was found guilty of defaming Islam by calling al-Maidah verse 51 of the Koran used by the political elite to fool the public in electoral battles.
