Wehave laws directing how the publichighways shall be kept, and if thepresent law legalize the conditionthe roads arc, and have been, in thepast winter and fall, then we advisea reconstruction of this law. But few persons properly esti-mate of what vast importance tothe commerce of the country, goodroads are. It must seemapparent to every man, that thereis a vast deal to be saved in buggies,wagons, &c, as well as their mulesand horses, to say nothing of thetime gained, in good roads.
