This illustration shows Walter Raleigh taking the French governor prisoner. It is taken from "Americae partes" (Parts of America), published in Frankfurt in 1590. Raleigh got much of his information about El Dorado from Berreo, the Spanish governor he took prisoner on Trinidad.
