A Bambara chi-wara dance headpiece,Burkina Faso,1st half of the 20th century. A wooden figure of two antelopes carved in several pieces. Light patina with remnants of a dark coloured finish along with some iron nails. Leather sleeves over the attached horns of the male figure,the points are also wrapped with leather. Beautiful condition with traces of age and use. Height(without base)105 cm.
