The Museum of Wooden Architecture consists of Russian wooden architecture brought to Kolomenskoye from the North of Russia in 1920-1930s by a well-known architect-restorer At the start of the 20th century Russian wooden fortresses became a rarity. The full restoration of such monuments like the towers of the Nikolo-Korelsky monastery and the Sumskoy and Bratsk forts of the 17th-18th centuries was carried at Kolomenskoye and the original historical landscape was recreated around these unique monuments.
