Zoological illustrations. 18th-century journal page with artworks, including: various insects (across top), marine invertebrates (second row), tree bark and worms (centre left), flies and beetles (across centre), views of a spider (lower left), head of a monstrous calf (bottom right). This page is from volume 5 of the 1734 edition of 'The Philosophical Transactions', an abridged collection of papers from the Royal Society. In these abridged collections, artworks from several different papers would be included on a single page. The papers in this collection were all published in 'Philosophical Transactions' in the period 1703 to 1712.
