Water freely at time of transplanting ; when the first fruit is set, pinch off the ends of the branches to obtain early fruit. Sufficient plants for a small garden can be grown in a shallow box or large flower-pot by placing it in a sunny window in a warm room or kilchen. .F)r late use sow in a sheltered border in May, and set out the plants in July ; the green fruit can be picked off before frost and â ripsned under glass. By training the vines on trellises or tying to stakes, the fruit will ripen better and be of finer quality.
