Hooghly Imambara exterior. This Imambara (residence of Imam) was built in memory of Haji Mohammed Mohsin. It took 20 years to build the new north facing Imambara after the commencement of its construction in 1841. It was designed by Keramatullah Khan. The main attraction of this magnificent architecture is its towering entranceway with couple of 150 ft. high minarets containing a huge clock in between, along with its bells and machinery. The clock was considered to be the 2nd largest clock in the world after Big Ben. Chinsurah in Hooghly district, West Bengal, India.
