Crosses on the Hill of Crosses nr Siauliai Lithuania
Near the town of Siauliai, in western Lithuania, is a small hill that years of tradition have led it to become covered in thousands of crosses, as an act of Catholic faith. The Russians tried to destroy the site on numerous occasions, but today - as this image shows - the hill is crowded with crosses as ever.
