Infected coronary bypass graft wound. Person cleaning an infected surgical wound on the leg of a 75-year-old female patient who has undergone coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery 2 weeks previously. CABG is a surgical procedure performed on the heart to treat diseased coronary arteries. A piece of healthy artery or vein is taken from another part of the body (here, the leg) and attached (grafted) to the diseased coronary artery. This re-routes the blood flow, bypassing the blocked coronary artery.
