Elbow muscle. Computer artwork of the supinator muscle (red) of the elbow and its attachments to the bones of the arm. This muscle originates from several points, including the lateral epicondyle of the humerus (upper arm bone, top) and attaches to the upper part of the radius (smaller of the two lower arm bones, lower centre). The other lower arm bone (the ulna) is at right. The cartilage of the elbow joint is shown (white), as are the ligaments, but the other muscles are not shown. The supinator muscle maintains the elbow and forearm in the supine (relaxed) position.
