The top of the outer hat falls limply over the inner hat and the whole therefore looks a bit like a nightcap. The outer hat is knitted in stockinette stitch with fifty-five stitches and one hundred needles per ten centimeters and consists of two parts, cut from a large piece of flat knitwear, Spitsbergen, Svalbard, Zeeuwsche Uytkyck, Nordic Company, anonymous, c. 1740 -
