Bangkok, Thailand, Southeast Asia, Asia. Bangkok National Museum. Sculpture of four-armed Bodhisattva, 8th – 9th century AD. Found at Ban Fai, Lam Plai Mat District, Buriram Province. A four-armed Bodhisattva of Mahayana Buddhismi s depicted with his hairs gathered above his head in the form of a crown. Hi uspper body is nude. The lower part wears a short sampot with a band knotting arpund his waist. The sculpture shows inspiration from pre-Angkorian Khmer art in the Prei Preah styles.
