Caption: Tagong, Sichuan, China - May 2001. Ethnic Khampa girls walk past a Chinese hole in the wall shop in the former Tibetan kingdom of Kham. Traditionally inhabited by the Khampas, nomadic horsemen, Kham came under occupation from the Chinese during the 1930's. Influenced by government tax cuts and financial incentives, many Han Chinese have since moved onto the Tibetan Plateau.
