I must say that I have never seen a more truly Chris-tian, brotherly spirit demonstrated anywhere than that manifested inboth our Conferences this year. The financial pressure has been grow-ing worse and worse for several years, and it seemed to have reacherithe limit of endurance. Of course this was felt more keenly by themarried workers who had families dependent upon them than by ussingle folks. When one is alone and knows that he or she is the onlyone that will have to pay the penalty, almost any amount of sacrificeand suffering may be endured; but when a sacrifice involves depriva-tion, not so much on the part of a man himself as on the par
