It is a rapid grower and gross feeder, and the chief point in its cultiva- tion is to divide the plants before the pots or tubs become over- crowded with roots. Strong clumps. Ready in November. Amaryllis vallota purpurea. BRODIAEA. Beautiful half-hardy California bulbs, blooming in pendent clus- ters on long, slender stems. It is easily forced, and may be grown in the greenhouse or coldframe, or, if planted out in the spring in clumps or masses, will flower freely in June or July. Coccinea (Floral Firecracker). A charming genus with leaves of darkest green, thickly covered with downy hairs, and bearing showy spikes of flowers. GLADIOLUS, "THE ; A lovelv pure white form of the Gladiolus Colvilli. The flowers are freely borne on long stems, and can be forced into bloom at a time when flowers are scarce.
