Kaunos was an ancient city with an important port flourishing from the 10th century BC in the southwest of nowadays Turkey. The settlement was in former times at the coast but is now situated 8 km inland. Kaunos war eine alte Stadt mit einem wichtigen Hafen im Südwesten der heutigen Türkei. Die Blütezeit dieser Stadt begann im vor Christus. Damals lag der Ort an der Küste, heute finden sich seine Ruinen acht Kilometer landeinwärts.
