The attendance was small. Presi- dent Tonseth announced his committees for the ensuing year and, from all indi- cations, there is going to be something doing at every meeting. The name of the society is going to be changed. As it is now it is the cause of much confu- sion both with the Rose Society and the Rose Festival Society. After the busi- ness meeting, refreshments were served and cards were played. L. T. S. SEATTLE, WASH. The Market. Slow business has prevailed for the last wepk, but deliveries from growers have be)en slow as well and no incon- venience has resulted. There were a number of hot days, which shortened the deliveries of outdoor flowers and summer rains at the start of the week served to reduce sales. There have been some fine deliveries of roses lately, with Columbia probably the best. Ulrich Brunner is another popular offering and Ophelia and Ward have been plentiful. Duchess of Wel- lington and Mme. Caroline Testout are seen in commercial quantities and have cleaned up well. Spring flowers used in baskets have probably been the heaviest selling item lately, with gladioli, snapdragons, iris, larkspurs and gypsophila used freely. The week saw a big funeral busi- ness, which saved the trade from a carry-over at the end of last week. Three of the largest funerals known in Seattle were held. One of these was productive of more telegraph business than any other f
