Farmers Institute Clubs.—One of the most effective means whereby thislocal interest can be aroused, and by which the work of the delegates will be mostejffective and the benefits from the literature most marked, is to form, on the partof the local farmers, a club at which they will have an opportunity of discussingagricultural topics and also using the club for literary and social purposes. Wemay well gather strength in Farmers Institute work by following the example setby the Womens Institutes. The progress made by Womens Institutes is, webelieve, far in advance of the expectations of even the most sanguine. The growthand success of the work is due, not only to the competent staff of lecturers whichhave been sent out from time to time, but chiefly to the fact that the responsibility. Half-day Judging Demonstration conducted under theauspices of the Norwood Farmers Club. has been thrown largely upon the officers of the local organizations. We have, it istrue, offered helpful suggestions and given more or less assistance by way of litera-ture, but, for the most part, the success has been due to the development and utili-zation of local talent, and this is to be found in each locality. We believe that everyfarmer, if he is worthy of the name of a farmer, will have information or ideas ofinterest and value to his fellow farmers of the district. The local Farmers Insti-tute Club is a channel through which this information may be brought to , again, the organization of local clubs will do more, we believe, than anythingelse to bring the young men into the Institute fold.
