red kite wing stall number 2360

some kites will swoop in and grasp the meat in their talons before making off with the meat held tightly beneath the tail this is often too swift a movement to be seen. Others will swoop low over the crows or raven's heads and will try to make them rise from the field with food whereupon they can chase the crows and rob them in mid flight. Kites will then take the meat aloft to find clear space or air space otherwise they would be robbed by another kite. The kites will eat the meat while flying. On hot sunny days the kites can sometimes be late as they prefer to spiral ever upwards in the thermals in the heat of the day. These kites are native to wales and not introduced from continental stock. DNA results have revealed that all those tested were descendents descendants of one single female. The welsh trust tag numbers of kites before they fledge.
