Place the Apparatus, and arrange the Lenses and Lamps, as described onPage 33 The Lanterns being mounted on the Platform lid of the packing-case, eachfixed on its pivot in front, incline both Lanterns apart at the rear to such anangle that the circle of light from each shall fall precisely upon the same space on theScreen. There is in front of the pair of Lanterns a Metal Dissolver—which isindicated by the dotted line in the engraving on pagp 30 *nd is more distinctlyshown by the illustration on this page. This Dissolver slides in a groove, and is soproportioned that when the wide part of the diamond-shaped opening is in front ofthe Tube of one Lantern, the pointed end will not quite reach to the front of theTube of the other Lantern.
