A Giffard action air pistol, St. Etienne, circa 1880. Round barrel in mm calibre, with dovetailed adjustable sights. Calibre designation stamped on the side. Finely engraved receiver with breech-loading action. Colour case-hardened cock. Set trigger. The air pressure reservoir screwed into the receiver, numbered "1365" and bearing the manufacturer's inscription, "Manufacture Francaise d'armes et cycles de St. Etienne".
