Agüero, a small village in the Pyrenean foothills in Huesca, Aragon, Spain, clusters around a fine 13th century Romanesque church and nestles beneath Los Mallos de Agüero (The Mallets or Ninepins of Agüero). This spectacular formation, also known as the Syncline Hills, consists of eroded red-tinted Tertiary period conglomerate rock that rises up to 275 metres (900 feet) above the settlement.
