Castle nan con (castle of dogs) (1), at sunset. Also known as Killundine Castle, Morven Penninsular, highlands, Scotland, UK
Killundine Castle - also known as Caisteal nan Con (castle of dogs) - overlooks the Sound of Mull on the eastern coast of the Morvern Peninsula. It dates from the 17th century but stands within the remains of an earlier prehistoric fort. The site is also traditionally associated with the Lords of the Isles but there is no evidence of medieval occupation. The castle was possibly erected by Allan M'Ean vic Ewin MacLean, tacksman of Killundine in 1671 and 1675.
