The under parts are white, more or less suffused withyellow, the sides and flanks are grayish, the belly and feathers under the tailare white. The female is like the male, but has the gray of the head suf-fused with greenish olive, and is yellower beneath. Immature birds arebright olive green above, including the top and sides of the head. Theirunder parts are much suffused with yellowish, except the feathers below thetail, which are -rffcMiy^T^-^^^**- TENNESSEE WARBLER. The nest is built of fine plant fibres and moss, lined with finer materialand hair, and is usually placed in bushes near the ground. The eggs, gener-ally four in number, are white, with a circle of brown dots of varying shadesat the larger end. They are about three fifths of an inch long, and half aninch in their other diameter. The birds are found throughout Eastern North America, during theirmigrations, and breed from Northern New York and Maine northward toHudsons Bay. They winter in Central America. 132 Bird Studies.
