Theyall sweep over the walls in great streams ofcolor which do not seem to be afraid to reachto the highest points. The fascination of thesespectacular flowers is so great that one almostoverlooks the many more intimate garden feat-ures which the careful visitor will discovereverywhere. [62]. IN THE PATIO OF THE SCIENCE AND EDUCATION BUILDING THE GARDEN ASPECTS Adjoining the California Building on thesouth side of the Prado a shaded stairway leadsunder an arch into the Montezuma Jardines de Montezuma is the pompous titleof this retreat. There is, however, nothingpompous about this sheltered spot. It is mostsuccessful as a fine flower garden, embracing allthe plants one finds in many climes in the well-kept garden. It is a typical Spanish formalgarden, sheltered on all sides, a veritable three sides buildings, including the PradoColonnade, furnish the enclosing sheltering walls,while on the south a pergola almost invisible inthe surrounding shrubbery divides it from thegently sloping park.
