The finer kinds are excellent dessert fruits, of rich and luscious flavor; for cooking and can- ning they are unsurpassed. Plums should be planted 18 feet apart in rich soil, which should be kept well cultivated. Prices: German and Fellemburg- Prunes, all grades 5c extra per tree. Largest size, 2 yr., 5-6 ft Medium size, 2 yr., 4-5 Very fine 1 yr. buds, 4-6 ft. 3Iedium 1 yr., 3-4 ft EUROPEAN PLUMS BEADSHAW. Very large, dark violet-red, flesh yellow- ish green; juicy and pleasant; tree vigorous, erect and productive. August. FELLEMBURG or ITALIAN PRUNE. Dark purple with a dark blue bloom; size medium; oval, pointed and tapering. Flesh juicy and delicious; fine for dry- ing. GERMAN PRUNE. A valuable Plum of fair quality for dessert, but most esteemed for drying and preserving. Large, long-oval, purple, with a thick blue bloom; flesh firm, sweet and pleasant, separating from the stone. Moderate to vigorous in growth. September. IMPERIAL GAGE. Large, oval, yellowish-green with marbled green stripes, heavy white bloom, flesh green- ish, juicy, melting, rich and best quality; tree up- right and vigorous. September. LOMBARD. Medium, roundish-oval, violet-red, juicy and pleasant; adheres to stone; valuable, market sort, hardy, and adapted to light soils; a reasonably sure cropper. SHROPSHIRE DAMSON.
