Partly dismantled gas holder lattice steel work at Airedale Road in Keighley under a blue sky and white clouds in June 2022

Cw 9071 Dismantling the gas works at Keighley June 2022 During the summer of 2022 the old gas holders off Airedale Road in Keighley in West Yorkshire are being dismantled as they are now redundant due to the progress of technology which means it isn’t necessary to store gas in gas holders as it is now just piped straight to the end use, or stored at high pressures in the pipe network. It was a lovely bright day when the photographer called in and to make these images from outside of the site. It is planned to have all this lovely lattice steel work gone by the end of the year.
