A German burgonet, circa 1580. The skull worked in one piece with a high, finely corded comb and a pointed peak with finely turned under and cabled edge. Riveted neck guard of one lame. Hinged cheek-pieces with multiple piercings for hearing. Original blackening, the rivets coated with brass, the rivets are not complete. One cheek-piece a good replacement from the time while it was in use.
