Nanorobot. Computer artwork of a centipede-like nanorobot. Nanorobots is a term used to describe future microscopic robots that could have a wide range of uses, from cellular level medicine to the cleaning of clothes. Their design may be based on existing designs, such as that of insects. Many different nanorobot units may also be able to work together to carry out a required task. This nanorobot has a head, which is joined to several identical units making up its body. It moves around on legs, like a centipede, and the large ratio of legs to body size may help it perform its function.
