Thyroid cancer metastases. Coloured Gamma Camera scan (scintigram) showing a posterior view of the body a patient with metastatic thyroid cancer. This patient has been injected with a radioactive tracer (Technetium-99m) which reveals cancerous growths as bright yellow when viewed using a gamma camera. The largest metastatic growth is seen in the right pelvic bone (at centre right) and along the spinal column. Metastasis is the growth of a secondary malignant tumour from a primary cancer, in this case thyroid cancer.
