Nicholas Couvertier, a cannon crewmember assigned to the New York Army Natonal Guard's Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 258th Artillery Regiment, 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, obtains measurements needed to properly place a howitzer during an air assault artillery raid at Fort Drum, on June 9. The deflection measurements that Couvertier obtains allows the gun crews to properly aim and engage enemy targets.
