In the majority of cases the Guibal fan was built with the heel ofthe blade bent forward, in accordance with the theory of DanielMurgue. This tended to lessen the loss by shock at the heel of theblade. Many of the early fans were built with a circular housingrather than with the spiral or scroll shape used later, although theGuibal fan was built with both styles of DAnthoDay Fan.
