A scale model of Discovery, the ship used on the British National Antarctic Expedition 1901-04 on display at The Polar Museum in Cambridge UK. The model was made by made by George Eric Northrop. 'Discovery', was a wooden coal-fired and sail-powered barque with one funnel and three masts, 172 feet (52 m) in length and with a beam of 33 feet (10m). The model has six lifeboats and no sails. The ship sits on a wooden mount with green baize.
