The anterior portion of a rather smaller mandible; from the Karoo system of the Winterberg range. Noticed by Owen on page 31 (no. 55) of his ' Catalogue of the Fossil lieptilia of S. Genus UDENODON, Owenl {ex Bain). Both jaws (at least in the adult) edentulous ; maxillae with an external caniniform ridge; palate with a vomerine ridge; general contour of skull as in Dicynodon. It has been suggested that Udenodon may be founded upon female skulls of Dicynodon, but, as observed by OwAi2, there does not appear to bo sufficient resemblance between the skulls of species Oudcnodon. 1 Quart.
