The town of jackson, Wyoming, was named in 1894 after David Edward Jackson (1788-1837), an American pioneer, trapper, fur trader and explorer. Jackson Hole and Jackson Lake are also named after him. The town's economic mainstay is tourism. The Saddle Rock Family Saloon is next door to the Jackson Hole Playhouse. Visitors dine at the Saddle Rock, then proceed to a show at the Playhouse.
