The only natural harbor along the country's coast, rich in plankton and marine life, attracting whalers and fishing vessels. The Herero people of the area called it Ezorongondo. Situated just north of the Tropic of Capricorn in the Kuiseb River delta at the end of the TransNamib Railway to Windhoek.
