At present there are seventy-six families here, which, counting widows, orphans and otherchildren, comprise two hundred and seventy-five persons. The settlement contains a convent, or monastery, fiftyyards square with arcades above and below. In the monasteryare the living rooms of the religious, the porters lodge, the. CATHOLIC BISHOP J. C. NERAZ dining room, kitchen and the office. All of these rooms areadorned with sacred ornaments and furnished with such arti-cles as are needed by the religious, for their own use and forsupplying the Indians.
