Leading greenhousemen of Iowa con- ferred with President K. A. Pearson, of Iowa State College, and members of the agricultural faculty March 20 at Ames, la., to draw up plans for the new $35,000 propagating house provided for by the last legislature. Special atten- tion to the commercial phases of green- house management will be given in the new courses in plant propagation, vegetable growing and floriculture which will be made available by the new building. The conference of the college faculty and greenhousemen was called to determine what courses would be most useful to young men and women who expect to take up this line of work. With the completion of the new building the horticultural equipment at Iowa State College will rank with that at the best institutions in the country. The college expects to give increased attention to horticulture and its allied interests because of the rapid develop- ment of this industry in the state of Iowa. Those present at the conference from outside of Ames were Wesley Greene, Des Moines; I. O. Kemble, Marshall- town; J. W. Dunford, Sioux City; C. N. Page, Des Moines; Roy F. Wilcox, Coun- cil Bluffs; Blaine C. Wilcox, Council Bluffs; Merritt Green, Marshalltown, and J. S. Wilson, Des Moines. Atlantic City, N.
